Course Objectives
Learn the foundational skills required to effectively understand and utilize information in drawings for manufacturing processes.
Participants of Print Reading and Engineering Drawing Format Training are introduced to the foundational aspects of reading and interpreting technical drawings. At completion of the course, the participants will be equipped to identify and understand key information included on engineering prints.
Course Overview
The course will be conducted in person using a combination of instructor lead presentation material, student workbook exercises, and group discussions to cover the material. If possible, students are encouraged to bring electronic drawing samples to aid in applying concepts to their particular needs.
The major topics of Print Reading and Engineering Drawing Format Training will include:
- Engineering Drawing Format
- Line Conventions
- Drawing Views: Orthographic, Section, and Auxiliary
- Detail and Assembly Drawings
- Manufacturing Terms, Specifications and Callouts
- General Dimensioning Practices
- GD&T Introductory Overview
- Surface Texture, Threads, and Welding
Who Should Attend
This foundational course is recommended for those with a need to understand engineering prints: production staff (assemblers, fabricators, welders, etc.) and other manufacturing roles (estimators, quality technicians, inspectors, etc.), particularly those new to the manufacturing field.
Registration will close one week prior in order to purchase course materials.
Course Materials
Course includes a reference guide/exercise book you will receive the day of the training. A certification of attendance will be provided upon completion.

There are a few outdoor parking options at Mill 19 Hazelwood Green. Street parking is available at no cost on a first-come, first-serve basis.
