Digital Manufacturing Essentials (LVL 2)

This program is tailored for individuals currently employed or with a background in manufacturing. These programs are suitable for those seeking to enhance their knowledge in smart/digital manufacturing.

Course Outcomes:

  • Understand smart/digital manufacturing from design to operational management
  • Learn essential concepts and approaches to computer-aided processes that are key to smart manufacturing production.
  • Align your skills with the growing demand for sensor technology, data collection and analytics on the factory
  • Understand how to visualize data (dashboards) to make data­ driven decisions.
  • Develop a working knowledge of processes and tools for testing concepts.
  • Strengthen professional and personal development skills essential to every work environment.

Target Audience/Pre-requisites: Individuals currently working in manufacturing with a minimum of 3-5 years industry experience. Roles include technicians, technologist, supervisors, automation technician and engineer, manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, engineering managers, plant managers and manufacturing leaders. Ideally suited to operations that are looking to get into smart manufacturing and automation.

Credential(s): Certificate of completion from Penn State University and 4 CEUs (continuing education credits)
