Continuous Improvement Practice/Sustaining Improvement Efforts

If you are interested in obtaining Lean Certification, please contact us at info@catalystconnection.org for details and assistance.

Sustainment Training (SLIM) is a systematic approach to achieve goals and overcome challenges that can be taught and used by everyone in the organization. This mindset is a blending of the Gemba, go and see with rapid PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycles of improvement to arrive at a new target condition outside your existing knowledge threshold. Rather than relying on checklists or prescriptive action plans, it allows the people to learn along the way in an ever changing work environment. This tool will allow for improvements to be made at the process level on a regular basis. These improvements will be made in alignment with the business level goals of the organization. As part of the deployment assistance, a top level vision statement will be developed and documented for use in each of the coaching sessions.

Participants will be trained on this approach for systematic daily improvements. We will accomplish the approach described above through the series of following tasks:

  • Conduct training on the methodology and facilitate creation of Story Boards
  • Show how ongoing weekly and monthly Coaching sessions with the participants will lead the deployment of Improvements
