The Make More in America Initiative: Strengthening America’s Supply Chains

The Make More in America Initiative will build on EXIM’s current products and services, providing access to capital needed to fill critical supply chain gaps. The initiative will have particular focus on small business exports — including companies owned by minorities, women, veterans, and those with disabilities (MWOBs) — as well as exports that are environmentally beneficial or transformational.

To help companies make more in America – especially in sectors critical to national security – EXIM will make available the agency’s existing medium- and long-term loans, loan guarantees, and insurance to export-oriented domestic manufacturing projects.

President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), Mrs. Reta Jo Lewis will be visiting Pittsburgh on March 20, 2023 from 1:30pm-3:30pm.

Chairwoman Lewis’s goal is to meet with Western Pennsylvania manufacturing companies, diverse, women, small and mid-size companies in a roundtable to talk about the “Made More in America” Plan as well as “tools to increase your sales to new markets”.

EXIM is the Export Credit Agency of the United States that helps companies to be competitive when doing business overseas.

EXIM also finances companies who are not exporting but if their clients are, then the supplier company can qualify for EXIM financing. With EXIM, exporting companies can offer open credit terms to overseas customers while being protected against non-payment.  EXIM also provides export guarantee loans.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) awarded the Regional Export Promotion Program (REPP) Member of the Year Award to the Small Business Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh (SBDC) in December 13, 2022.
