Risk Management Training Course Objective

To raise basic awareness of risk management training concepts and mechanisms so that participants can effectively identify and manage risks within their own organizations.

Risk Management Course Outline

This training session introduces the definition of risk, the purpose of risk management and discusses steps necessary for the effective management of risks.  Discussion of risk management requirements from various quality management system standards such as ISO-9001, AS9100, ISO-13485 and others are presented.   Presentation of risk principles, management program framework and the development of a risk management process will align with the ISO 31000:2009 – Risk Management standard.

Discussion of numerous catastrophic incidents in history will highlight the importance of proactive risk management programs.  Examples and exercises will be utilized to develop a general understanding of the subject.  Several risk management tools will be presented to help participants set up a risk profile and management plan for their companies.

At conclusion of the training session, participants should be able to:

  • Understand risk management
  • Understand how risk management affects decision-making
  • Conduct a risk analysis by developing a risk profile and using a risk matrix
  • Identify risks/uncertainties to achieving a set of objectives and expected results
  • Prioritize these uncertainties
  • Decide how to act on the uncertainties within a structured framework

Target Audience

Persons responsible for quality management systems that require risk management processes or anyone engaged in risk assessment, mitigation and management.
