Rapid Tooling with Additive Manfacturing Training

Course Overview

This two-day intensive course will introduce participants rapid tool making methods based on 3D printing. Indirect and direct rapid tooling will be covered with hands on activities including software tools. Tooling for multiple processes including plastic injection molding, sand casting, room temperature vulcanization (RTV) as well as jig and fixture design is included in the curriculum with demos or laboratory exercises. Each participant will earn a certificate after successful completion including an ONLINE exam.

Who Should Attend

Technical personnel from small and medium size manufacturing companies are encouraged to attend even though it is open to similar personnel from all size of companies including start-ups.

After successful completion, participants should be familiar with:

  • Tooling design in multiple manufacturing processes
  • Rapid tool making practices including direct or indirect as well as
  • Multiple 3D printing and additive manufacturing (AM) technologies including Binder-Jetting, Stereolithography (SLA), and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
