Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Course Objectives

Participants are introduced to the foundational aspects of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. GD&T is a specific method of communicating dimensions and tolerances for size, location, orientation, and form. The basic definition and objective of GD&T is:

  • Geometric: A way of thinking about and communicating dimensions and tolerances for a product.
  • Dimensioning: Calculating, recording, and communicating desired values for size, location, orientation, and form.
  • Tolerancing: Calculating, recording, and communicating acceptable ranges for size, location, orientation, and form.

The major topics included in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Training:

  • Features
  • Datums
  • Form
  • Orientation
  • Profile
  • Position
  • Coaxial Features

Course Overview

The course will be conducted in person using a combination of instructor lead presentation material, participant workbook, and group discussions to cover the material. If possible, participants are encouraged to bring electronic drawing samples to aid in applying concepts to their particular needs.

Benefits of Attending

At the completion of the course, participants will have an increased knowledge and improved practical application skills for the GD&T process.

This foundational course is recommended for those with a need to understand engineering prints including: managers, project management, engineering, quality, and production staff.

Course includes a training guide you will receive the day of the training.

About the Trainer
