Cyber Resilience and Risk Management Assistance
Hamill Manufacturing is a manufacturer of precision machining, welding, and fabrication of complex components. They have been established as a well-respected company in a variety of industries including Defense, Power Generation, Glass, Steel, and Semi-Conductor. Hamill provides engineering services such as drafting, tool design, structural analysis, non-destructive test disciplines, and metallurgical evaluation.
Hamill Manufacturing was one of 11 SMMs across the US to be selected to receive cyber resilience and risk management assistance thanks to a cybersecurity grant from the Department of Defense that was awarded to the MEP Network.
Hamill serves the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program, NavAir and the Defense Logistics Agency and 80 – 90% of the company’s business is in the defense sector. They were aware of the new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification and were struggling to prepare their company for the new requirements.
In phase 1 of the project, Catalyst Connection and it’s 3rd party cybersecurity expert, InTech Solutions helped Hamill conduct a NIST 800-171 assessment as well as develop their System Security Plan and Plan of Action and Milestones. During the six-month phase 2, InTech Solutions helped Hamill execute their Plan of Action and Milestones and reduced their outstanding items from 140 to 44. The company was able to report a cost savings of $21,000. In addition, Hamill received a no cost one-year license to FutureFeed, a CMMC governance platform to help the company prepare for CMMC.
