Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design and Layout

*Special Offer*

Manufacturers can attend this training at no-cost thanks to SkillMill19 @ Manufacturing Innovation Center.

Turn your idea into a ready-to-manufacture Printed Circuit Board (PCB) prototype in just one day with this hands-on course. Using the open-source KiCad software suite for Electronic Design Automation (EDA), you’ll learn how to create circuit schematics and design 2-layer and 4-layer PCB layouts, with Gerber and IPC-2581 outputs. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to capture a circuit schematic, design and route a circuit board layout, and understand key principles of good PCB design. You’ll also explore custom part symbols, footprints, and fabrication outputs, along with turn-key board manufacturers. While a basic understanding of circuit theory and electrical fundamentals is helpful, it’s not required to get started.

Benefits of Attending

  • From Idea to Prototype in One Day:
Learn to design a ready-to-manufacture PCB using industry-relevant tools and workflows.
  • Hands-On with KiCad EDA Tools:
Gain practical experience creating schematics and PCB layouts using the open-source KiCad suite.
  • Master Core PCB Design Skills:
Learn to design and route 2-layer and 4-layer boards, create custom footprints, and generate fabrication ready files.
  • Understand Manufacturing Outputs:
Get familiar with Gerber and IPC-2581 file formats and how they connect with turn-key PCB manufacturers.

Required Pre-requisites:
