Properly applied, Statistical Process Control (SPC) will allow for more effective tracking and evaluation of output data, facilitate timely response to process issues and drive quality improvement. Concepts and practical application of SPC techniques will be presented. While statistical formulas are important, the class will focus on recognizing out-of-control conditions and appropriate responses to bring a process back into a state of statistical control. Attendees will be trained in the development and interpretation of several control charts that will enhance their knowledge of SPC.
Quality Managers, Engineers and Technicians, Department Managers/Supervisors and Production personnel responsible for managing or controlling production or administrative processes
Class typically runs 7.5 hours
Class participants will be provided a handout of presentation materials
Certification of Attendance will be provided upon completion
This training session introduces the attendee to the basic concepts of process and product variation along with how variation affects process management and product quality. Traditional methods of monitoring process performance via statistical methods are introduced.
The following topics will be reviewed:
At conclusion of the training session, participants should be able to:
• understand concepts of probability and variation,
• recognize what statistical tools to apply to variable and attribute data, and
• monitor and control processes using statistically valid concepts.
