M-RIC: Marcellus Regional Innovation Consortium

Catalyst Connection recently launched the Marcellus Regional Innovation Consortium (M-RIC) to enhance the competitiveness of regional manufacturers in the Marcellus Shale supply chain. A primary objective of M-RIC is to define the Marcellus Shale market and supply chain from the perspective of small manufacturers in western Pennsylvania. We will help regional manufacturers enter the Marcellus Shale market by matching their products and capabilities with the demands of this supply chain.

Project Description

There is an abundant amount of publically available information on the economic impact of the Marcellus Shale play from a variety of sources, including industry associations, governmental agencies and academia. Much of this information is redundant, self-serving, contradictory, inaccurate, industry promotion or simply not relevant to addressing the market intelligence needs of small manufacturers. It is our intent to obtain to develop true market intelligence and opportunities that provide practical benefits to small manufacturers to enhance their competitiveness in the Marcellus Shale supply chain.

Catalyst Connection is actively engaged with the “demand side” of the Marcellus Shale supply chain, including utilities, drill site developers, intermediaries (brokers, industry groups) as well as the regional universities that are developing new technology for this industry.

M-RIC Services to Small Manufacturers

To help us determine if the M-RIC program can be of value to you, we would first collect information on your company’s product lines, capabilities and market plans using an assessment tool based on Marcellus Shale supply chain requirements. We would then meet with you to review this assessment and mutually determine if M-RIC can be of value to your company by strategically matching your company’s “supply” with this market’s “demand”. Catalyst Connection will also offer services that will help you achieve your goal to compete and succeed in the Marcellus Shale supply chain. Grant funding from the Richard K. Mellon Foundation enables us to offer these services at little or no cost to your company.
